Board Members
Alex Forsyth
"Carrying on our dad’s spirit of inclusion, it’s exciting to watch this scholarship grow year over year. West Linn Youth Sports made such an impact on me and provided some great memories. I enjoy contributing to the board in big picture strategic planning/development and scholarship recipient selection."
- Carla & Steve’s son; Katie’s brother
Katie Hughes
"Enthusiastic generosity seemed to come so naturally to our dad, and making sure others have a chance to be part of that means so much. Contributing to the board with ideation, tech support and scholarship recipient selection, as well as very real, “other duties as assigned.”
- Carla & Steve’s daughter; Alex’s sister
Brett Johnson
"Coaching youth sports alongside Steve when our boys were young, our families formed a great friendship; I admired Steve’s positive attitude, passion and commitment in everything he did. This scholarship continues to honor his legacy and as a board member my focus is development/annual fundraising, and scholarship recipient selection."
- Long-time family friend
Jack Snook
"I trusted Steve with my Grandson, respected him as a coach because he truly cared about the boys, not just the scoreboard. As a board member, I’ll continue to work towards ensuring Steve’s enthusiasm and commitment to young people in the community continues to be carried forward and makes a difference through the Steve Forsyth Memorial Fund."
- Family friend and grandfather of one of Steve’s players
John Turina, Treasurer
"Although I never personally knew Steve, I feel like I have gotten to know him through his family and friends. I’m responsible for the management of the Steve Forsyth Memorial Fund business and governmental affairs. I also contribute with ideas (sometimes crazy) that align with our mission. I have been a lifelong volunteer in my kids' schools, youth coaching, CCA, Dougy Center, SOLV and with Portland’s annual Meier & Frank holiday parade."
- Carla's husband (married 2022)
Jim Forsyth
"Growing up with Steve, there was never a dull moment. It is amazing how he never lost the pure joy and wonder that children have as he became an adult. I’m honored to use my abilities as a Certified Financial Planner© to continue Steve’s legacy as a member of this board."
- Steve's brother
